Happy Easter! It’s time for some April goals! Okay, I know we’re already halfway through the month but better late than never – right? 🙂 Anyway, life has been CRAZY busy but I’m finally ready to jump back down the rabbit hole of blogging – so there’s no better time to make some monthly goals!
I didn’t post any goals in March so instead of doing a follow-up; I’m just going to fill you in on some of what has been happening recently.
March was crazy.
First of all, I moved! Granted, it was only one zip code over but I’m in a much better place now! The complex is gated, quiet (oh my God, it’s so quiet and amazing), spacious, has a gym and a pool, and it’s clean. There’s no mold! What a concept! 😛
Anyway, I’m loving my new place and can’t wait to finally finish unpacking. My mom will be here at the end of the month and I’m counting on her impeccable organization and design skills to help me pick out my final pieces of furniture and set up my place in a way that is functional. Plus, I have some fun events planned for us, too!
Recently, I’ve had some fun outings with some of the girls from work. I’m so grateful to have found amazing friends through my new job! What I’ve learned from those experiences is that they are not the best at talking me out of spending money…and that none of us are exceptionally skilled at golf… But I love them all just the same. 😛
Let’s see, what am I forgetting…?
Otherwise, March was a lot of the same old stuff – tornado threats, thunderstorms, relapses (yes, HSP is still in my life), work, and friends.
Okay, that list makes my life sound scary. I promise, it’s not bad at all. Recently, I’ve become sort of a hermit because I haven’t found the balance between work, blogging, and fun – without relapsing. I’ve learned that I have to get at least 7 hours of sleep per night and have a lazy day each weekend – which really cuts into my non-working time. But I’m trying to find balance while figuring out what causes these stupid relapses in the first place.
Anyway, that’s pretty much March in a nutshell.
Are you ready to see my April Goals?!
Make a Functional Blog Plan
I hate that I’m already 4 months into 2017 and still haven’t figured out how to post 2 times a week and schedule social media in advance. I was so good at it in school but now that I’m working it’s much harder. Currently, I’m publish 2 posts a week at work and do all their social media so I just need to figure out how to keep that productivity going after work and on the weekends. Maybe I should start writing posts on paper before bringing them to a computer…a lot of my problem is being tired of staring at a computer screen by the end of the day…
Curate My Instagram Feed
If you scroll though my Instagram page, you’ll see that I’ve created and changed my theme a lot over the past year. It was a hodge-podge, then it was colorful, white, fall colors, Christmassy, blue, and now a hodge-podge again. And that’s fine but I want to have a plan and design-scheme. Any tips on picking a color palate and keeping up with it?
Complete 1 Email Course I Signed Up For
This summer, I signed up for several free blogging courses and then never got the chance to do them. They just sit in my inbox unopened. It’s time to start completing them – #1 because I hate having a high number of unopened emails and #2 I feel terrible that some people’s email open-rates are low because I’ve been too lazy to start the course they worked so hard on. So to all of you who’s courses I’ve signed up for, I’m going to do them! I promise!
Get Settled & Finally Unpacked
This won’t happen until the final weekend of the month when my mom is here – but as long as it happens at some point, I’ll be fine. I’m currently at a loss as to where to put some of my stuff. All of my cabinets are slim and deep. I don’t want to fill them all the way because the one day that I need a spice in the back of the shelf, it is going to be miserable to reach it. Who designed these cabinets?! They were not thinking…or they had really long arms… and I have monkey arms so unless they were giants, they have no excuse.
Read One Book
I’m excited about this one. I have been reading most nights but I keep falling asleep two pages in. The book is good I just am so tired. I think it’s a part of the relapsing thing…. Update: since I wrote the first draft of this I bought The Magnolia Story and I’m flying through it! It’s an amazing read.
Learn How to Easily Style my New Haircut
I chopped 4 inches off my hair at the beginning of the month. I love it but it’s a big change. I’ve had long hair most of my life so I find myself missing my long braids and top knots. This being said, my hair already feels healthier. When I came off of Prednisone, my hair thinned significantly. Luckily, I had a ton of hair to begin with – but now I have what feels like half the amount I started with. I’m sure that’s a bit of an overstatement but it did thin a lot.
Anyway, I noticed that the weight of my hair was causing my scalp to be sore and that my hair wasn’t as healthy as it used to be. So, I got rid of the weight and began to use products with less chemicals – and it’s helping! Now, I just need to figure out more than one way to style it – preferably without heat. At the moment, Jess puts my hair in a bun for me when I get to work early.
Well, there you have it – my April Goals! I think I can achieve them! I just have to make my naps shorter and cut back on Netflix – easier said than done. 😛
