Happy December, loves! Where has the time gone? 2016 is almost over! Thanksgiving is complete & now it’s time to jump into the holiday season. I can’t believe it!
I had a lot of goals in November & am being equally ambitious in December so I will keep this introduction short. Let’s just dive into all of the goal talk!
Let’s see how I did on my November goals.
2,000 Page Views & 100 Email Subscribers
I did not accomplish this goal… All of my focus went into my graduate recital, thesis edits, & job applications. Surprisingly, the blog held up well on it’s own – even through I was a slacker with posts & promotions. My final stats for the month were 1,540 page views & 59 email subscribers.
50 New Followers on Each Social Media Platform
I was 50% successful. I only gained 15 new Facebook likes & 35 Twitter follows but I did succeed with Pinterest & Instagram.
Start a Thankfulness Thread for the Month
Yea…this didn’t happen. I got way too busy & once I had the time to write a Thankfulness post, it was Thanksgiving afternoon. I decided to get moving on Christmas posts instead. Oops.
Make a Schedule for Blog Promotions
I sort of did this…Boardbooster really helped. I decided to switch over to Hootsuite, instead of Buffer, & learned how to use it & was decent about scheduling content in advance. My social media was consistent – sometimes it just wasn’t premeditated.
Apply for Jobs & Internships
I applied for 2 jobs & 2 internships! I need to send in more applications but I think I’m off to a great start. Plus, I had an interview for a position! Keep your fingers crossed for me y’all!
Save for Christmas
This was a major fail. Turns out fees for recitals increased this year & I had to pay for new headshots as well. So, I spent more than I saved. But I didn’t go broke! I can still afford presents so it is kind of a win.
Read Two Theatre Reading Challenge Books
You know how I said I’d have plenty of time to read over Thanksgiving break? That was a joke. I used my reading time to watch Gilmore Girls & catch up on sleep & schoolwork. Better luck next time, Reading Challenge.
Go Somewhere I Haven’t Been
I tried several new restaurants! They were all fabulous. I also went to my parent’s new lake house over Thanksgiving. So all in all, I tried lots of new stuff!
This month, I joined up with the Monthly Intentions Group and so have some new additions to this post! I’m so excited about this! 🙂
- I completed my graduate musical theatre recital! I was supposed to complete this in April but due to HSP-Vasculitis, I had to postpone for a semester. It was a blessing in disguise because I was able to enhance my acting skills & learn how to belt before performing. I had a blast & rediscovered my love for performing. It was a magical evening. I will have videos up on Youtube in the near future!
- I went home for Thanksgiving & got to see my family & relax at my parent’s new lake house. The lake view is GORGEOUS & I am in love with all of the fall colors. I wish I could stay there. (Click over to Instagram for more pics from the lake!)
- I got behind on the blog. Even though I was focusing on other important things, I’m still bummed. My statistics had been drastically increasing each month & since I was not consistently writing and promoting content, they did not improve this month – but you read about that earlier.
- I spent a lot of money. I had the money & could afford it but the extra expenses made me realize that I lose one of my jobs when I graduate. On top of that, I cannot physically work in retail for the amount of hours needed to pay all of my bills. So, I am praying that I will be able to find a job to start in January. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Alright, enough of November – that ship has sailed. It is time to focus on December! Are you ready to check out my December Goals? You better be because here they are!
2,000 Page Views, 75 Subscribers, & 50 New Followers on Each Social Media Account
I decided to up-the-ante even though I didn’t reach this goal last month. I have a lot of awesome content planned so I’m betting I can succeed.
Create an Opt-In Freebie
It has been a while since I offered y’all something for free so I am going to make something awesome to give you. Get excited! I don’t know what it will be yet, but I promise it with be awesome and useful. Is there anything you want to learn from me? Help give me ideas!
Post Twice A Week
I have been planning content. I haven’t written much in advance yet for the month but I have all the topics planned. That is the aspect that typically takes the most time for me. Getting inspired it hard! But I love the holidays so this month should be an easy one for creating awesome content twice a week.
Hopefully this should be easy. If I have to stay in grad school one more semester, I will lose my mind. So let’s hope that doesn’t happen & I can finally get this degree!
Have a Job Lined Up for January
I really need a new job for next month. I have applied to a few and have a cool, new freelance business idea up my sleeve. Hopefully I can get the new business off the ground & also find a steady 9-5 job.
Read 2 Theatre Reading Challenge Books
I can do this in December. I can feel it. Plus, I need to finish this challenge so I can share what I read with you and create a new challenge! I’m so close! I only have 6 more to read!
