Hey there, loves! It is time to wake up from our turkey comas and start preparing for the most wonderful time of the year – CHRISTMAS! I know, I know, eating all that food made us so sleepy and those of us still in school don’t want Thanksgiving break to end. But a new season is upon us. Can you believe it is already almost winter?! December starts in five days! That’s crazy! So, I’ve made you a winter playlist to get you in the spirit.
I’m already trying not to stress about all the shopping I need to do. I could have done some yesterday but I don’t Black Friday shop. After I worked one Black Friday, I swore never to contribute to the madness. It was awful. I hated that I had to leave Thanksgiving early to go to work, too. It was not a fun time. Besides, these days most stores start their Black Friday sales on Monday – so what is the point of standing in line on Thursday night? If you enjoy it, more power to you but it is not my cup of tea.
Anyway, November has been a crazy busy month so I’m ready for December to begin. You’ll read about it in a few days so I won’t go into detail here, but I have not been doing too well on my November goals. I have been putting more focus into graduating and finding a job than writing and promoting blog content. I’m sorry about that. I will be more active in December – I promise. I’m so excited to graduate and have more time to focus on Glitter & Grandeur. I am also super excited for presents – just being honest.
Who doesn’t love presents?!
Winter is a great season full of family time, spreading joy, snow, sparkles, pretty lights, etc. I could go on forever but you get the idea. I can’t wait to drive around looking at Christmas lights! Does anyone else spend a lot of time getting lost looking at lights in December? They just make me so happy! What can I say? I’m drawn to sparkly things. 🙂 I also love the smell of Christmas trees and all things Christmas. I’ll be buying new Christmas scented candles soon – need to get paid first…priorities. Winter is such a great season! There is only one thing that I don’t like about winter….
I don’t like cold weather. I enjoy curling up under a blanket and drinking hot cocoa as much as the next person, but I hate being cold and I’m always cold. My hands and feet constantly feel like ice. If I sit still for too long, I need a blanket. It’s sad. And then there are all the layers! Jackets, gloves, hats, thick socks, etc etc etc. And you have to carry them around all day?! No thank you. But I love the music that comes with the season. It makes the cold almost worth it – almost.
I’m not ready to start jamming out to Christmas music 24/7, so I thought it would be fun to put together a winter playlist – songs that are perfect for nights by the fire but aren’t all about some guy in a red suit. 🙂
It’s been kind of a challenge to put together. The idea hit me when “Winter Song” by Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles was stuck in my head. I was enamored with the idea of a winter playlist – and then I realized that was the only song I could think of off the top of my head. Oops! Radios only seem to play Christmas songs this time of year so I couldn’t use that as a resource. I had to do some digging but it was fun.
I’m really happy with how it has turned out. I hope with it you all can find some new winter favorites. I know I have!
And if you don’t have Spotify, here is a list of all the songs so you can make the playlist on whatever music service you use! I’m just that nice. Ha! 🙂
If you enjoy this playlist, please share it with your friends!
I hope you enjoy my Winter Playlist!
What are your favorite songs this season (other than Christmas songs)?
